Drying up perhaps?

what strain is this? I had some mazas recently that did the same thing on the first flush... Think mine was genetics though. And of course It could be a low RH or high lvls Co2 as well.

Except for a few aborts in the first picture, everything looks amazing.

no, look at the shape of the fruits in the very first pic. You can tell they are aborting by the shape. Looks like there were too many pins and not enough water to sustain them all.

Those are too dry and because of that your mushrooms are not growing any bigger or aborting.
You can tell by how dry the uncolonized parts of the substrate look and by the yellowing matted mycelium.
How are you maintaining fruiting conditions?

That's exactly what I said. There are a few aborts in the first picture, but the second and third look good.

I'd pull out the sides of the tray a bit and pour water around the edges. Let it absorb overnight and then repeat. After the soak, pour off any excess that didn't soak in. Those pins should immediately take off. RR

They're dead for good, but they're still active and very potent. Pick them now to make room for new pins.

They are dead for good. One way to tell the aborts is how the cap shape changes to look like a more mature fruit (more curvy and pointed), even tho its still very small. Pins have a more rounded, bulbous, immature looking cap. Of course the older aborts are obvious, like you said, brown and shrivaled. Usually the mycelium will just reabsorb them. They'll get white fuzz on em.

If the heads havnt turned black yet then there not aborts. So those that arnt black could come back to life once you hydrate your substrate.
Also, taping up the sides to prevent light wont stop side and bottom pinning. As your substrate getts eating, it shrinks and a gap forms between the sub and the walls, this creates a perfect climate for pinning as fresh air is getting down the sides and also theres high humidity due to such a small space.
side pinning and bottom pinning isnt such a bad thing, its just a pain to harvets. I had an entire flush for just bottom and side pinning. They grew fine, just got a bit squashed nothing else.
dunk yoiur substrate.
So, is it a monotub you are doing? i cant see any holes for air exchange.
