Peat moss additives
    #11743173 - 12/30/09 02:52 PM (15 years, 21 days ago)

I have a bag of peat moss that says it is miracle-gro enriched plant food in it.
What are the negatives of using this? I know I always read how mushrooms under the locations found have the added note they can be found in highly fertilized lawns but I never understood why this would be good?
Otherwise I will just stick to my regular baled stuff, but on the bag it says its better than the baled peat moss though obviously they are not considering its other usages that pertain to us.

I'm sure it's fine. The myc will either ignore the plant food, or eat it like you would eat a vitamin tablet.
Unless it's high in magnesium or something?

So it's 1/4 of 1% total additives? Sheesh.

I don't like the word amonium in there.

Really? Why not? And even at 0.02%?

I realize it's a very small amount but I have no idea the levels of ammonia that are removed in regular leeched horse manure.
I guess I have plenty of trays to play with so there is plenty of opportunity to figure out which one I like more.

The reason I want to try this stuff out is because it seems fluffier then my other stuff which seems dryer and darker.
