Shoot me a pm if you would like a powerful custom laser built. 4th pic is a 1.3W 445nm laser burning thru some plastic makeup containers. Yes I was wearing proper safety goggles, otherwise I would be blind right now.

Nice. Don't forget to put a bit of Vaseline on the mating surfaces and be careful not to overtighten the wing nuts. It should last a few lifetimes. I see they've changed the handle on the lid. I'd be curious to know if that handle heats up. It seems like it would more so than the old style. RR

Congratulations, a very worthy investment indeed. I was lucky that my grandmother gave me her old AA PC back in the 80's and so I had good success from the start back in those dark ages. It was the type with the adjustable vent/pop-cock. Of course, she used her's to put up preserves and stuffs, never told her what nefarious uses I planned on putting it through
A few years ago I bought a new AA since my other one was... stolen!
These days I am salivating over one of the self-contained X model, someday.... but hey, I happened upon a brand new Bacti-cinerator III recently. Doesn't work too well on flaming syringe needles, but what a treat when working with inoc loops and scalpels.
That was an excellent present from Santa, my friend, good growing in 2010!

I am currently searching for an AA as well. They seem to be a little on the tougher side to find here in Canada unless ordered online. MM

A bacti-cinerator is used to heat sterilize loops and scalpels. More like a very nice alcohol lamp sans the alcohol or flame. Here is a pic of one:

I know the Home Hardware and lumber in Grand Forks, BC keeps AA pressure cookers in stock. Perhaps other Home Hardware stores do as well. RR
