I use 1/4" every two inches, all the way up the sides and top, except the part where the substrate is. Tape or paint that or use a bag.

Wouldnt the sub dry out pretty quick, how long do you think the sub would last(assuming everything goes as planned)?

If you see, that it's drying out, mist it! If it keeps losing moisture, tape some holes until it's OK.

Actually, it's better to mist more rather than close holes. Fresh air is the number ONE pinning trigger because it causes evaporation from the substrate. If the substrate is losing moisture, the mycelium will produce fruit bodies as a survival mechanism. Mist to replace the lost moisture, but don't try to restrict it. RR

Alight, I am goin too do the MonoS/G.
If I but the bag over the tub I what loose too much GE will I? Or should I put the tub in a large trash bag and close it up, poke a few holes in the bag and let sit till its time too fruit?
AS fars FAE, should I jst use an oscillating fan on low in the same room the tub is in?
I like this MonoS/G idea, would be alot easier too control the interior of the tub by adjusting the ambient room conditions. I know I will still have too fan and mist, probly mist more than fan, but none the less, I love the idea
Thanks for everyones help and feel free too add to it.

Is that a Mono S/g as well? Any more pics?

I misted the tub in the mini mono thread once or twice a day, with zero fanning.

Try not to pay too much attention to it or bother it- mushrooms are shy, and they do their best work when you leave them alone.

I remember a friend measuring CO2 by just sucking in air with a syringe when he was growin buds. I don't know what he did with it after though... anyone ever heard of this method? It was a huge syringe maybe 150 or 200 ml with a cap on the end.

I know! That's why I said "mist it" first A while back I used a self made FC with drilled in holes and had a moisture problem. First I added more perlite, but that didn't solve the problem (and is irrelevant when it comes to monotubs). Then I started misting like crazy, but every time I came home from work, the RH was down in the 70ies. Knowing about FA as the number one pinning trigger, as well as the number one contam prevention, I hesitated to tape some holes, but in the end, it appeared to be only left way to solve the problem. After I did it, it still wasn't perfect, but together with misting it worked. AS far as I could tell it didn't have any negative consequences in terms of growing or infections. This might have been luck though.
Anyway, seeing that plenty of my suggestions appear to be -at least- partially wrong, I will now back out and restudy all the things I new one and a half years ago. Despite my will to contribute around here, I'd rather admit to myself that I have forgotten many things, when it comes to cultivation, haha

Try going from cubes to massive failure in Pan cambo and back. That's where I'm at lol. But I am now having huge success so all's well.

I've done it all, already, haha
Just took a brake for more than a year. Took me so long, mostly because I was afraid of all the info that awaited me and the fear to accept, that I've forgotten lots of stuff I once new. Gotta refresh it now
