Ok spores are on the way, will keep you up to date with some pictures. i am new to this, so i just have some general questions
1. i have new jars how should i clean them? boil the or steam them? 2. when it comes to steaming the jars with the ver, brf and spores should the lids be on tight or just resting on there?
as we go i will ask questions. i am trying out 24 1/2 pint jars and 12 pint jars. any advise from experts is welcome please.

I hope you realize that you need to sterilize the jars, let them cool overnight, and THEN inject the spores correct?
Just making sure

1 more things, I did pint jars with BRF before, and they preform really poorly. If you do it, let them colonize and then break them up and spawn to bulk. For some reason or another they just do a shit job fruiting as cakes, if they survive the much longer incubation period you put them through (because they are larger).

When you dunk and roll just use verm.
As for breaking up the pints, Just take each one individually out of the jars, and put them in a ziplock bag. Use a fork or just your hands to break them up into nickle sized pieces. Put them all in a bowl and let them recover over night. Then use them when they are ready and spawn to your bulk sub.

It's just easier than explaining everything.

What you use for bulk sub is up to you. I like manure or coir. Pint jars will take longer to colonize although i've never had first hand experience with them, I've always used half pints. A 1/2 pint will take from 3 weeks to over a month to colonize on average from spores. You can reuse the perlite, just dry it / sterilize in the oven.

Wizkd, bulk grows a bigger pain in the ass than cakes the first time around. i'm currently in my first actual spawning to bulk project right now, and there is more to do than just doing a cake grow. Follow the RR mushroom video's for brf cakes and follow that to a T. You'll have great success with it. Make sure you get the wide mouth jars, for whatever reason they work better as cakes than regular. Just my noobie 2 cents.

I believe I did add the fact that cakes are easier to understand and control than bulk grows. I could be mistaken.
