Quite the opposite. They can actually help you learn how to breathe/sing, IME. You might think you aren't breathing on mushrooms (never happened to me but I've read of it), but that isn't true

Sometimes I've felt a little bit of chest pressure, but I think that's because I do actually breathe deeper while tripping.
In general what I always notice is my hands and feet just feel... weird. Not really sure how to explain it. It's like every half-hour or so they feel sorta itchy and sweaty for half a second.

No. I breathe really hard when I bang on them. They make you more awake and aware, so you may want to breathe more because it feels good.

Anxiety. Just let your body/ brain do the breathing; you stay out of that.

I agree, tripping makes my lungs and airway seem much more clear... although sometimes if i'm really trippin hard/having an intense peak I have to remind myself to breath

I for one HAVE experienced breathing difficulties on my first trip of 2.5 dried grams of Cubensis. I would describe it as a slightly tight feeling in the chest, that restricted my lung capacity by maybe 10-20%, It was nothing serious and it didn't last very long. I would definitely not ascribe this symptom to anxiety, as I was feeling quite relaxed at the time.
It hasn't discouraged me from taking mushrooms.

Quite contradictory to this forum, but I find myself with this a lot of the time right before letting go. Breathing is really hard and feels like a huge weight is on my chest. Not the entire time but for spells. It happens consistently to me at higher doses. I never choke, just have a hard time breathing.

I love breathing on shrooms. The air flows in and out in a most beautiful manner! I learned life and death through the inhalation and exhalation process of everyday breathing while on mushrooms!

When I am tripping no. But when I first take them when I feel myself coming up I always yawn a lot and feel like I have a hard time breathing but then it goes away.

Haha...it depends on the kind of trip you are having.
Bad trips...will probably effect your breathing!
You know.........same with life!
-------------------- "JUST FOCUS ON THE PRETTY STUFF" is what THEY clearly said to me while on fresh picked cubes in Florida. I was reflecting on stupid common life problems I had at the time, but luckily friendly little "cosmic critters" intruded, interrupting my lame-brain moment with that short & simple message of what I now see as being pure universal GOSPEL TRUTH for all of LIFE. That profound little event instantly changed & brightened my whole trip, & it ultimately changed me into a more positive minded person in life. Plus that was definitely my 1st totally convincingly real encounter with THEM & is one reason why I totally believe in what I choose to call ELVES as being absolutely REAL. I think I know what ya mean, they can affect it while tripping (IMO of course). Sometimes when I'm really really really Ill start staring at something that catches my eye and I get so lost in the craziness that I am witnessing that I forget to breathe... Always followed promptly by a gigantic yawn/sigh/deep breath tho. That's just their breathtaking ability tho?

I seem to have a mucous response to psychedelic mushrooms. It didn't happen the first time but by the third time, my nose, mouth/throat, and lungs produce a very thick, bubbly mucous that makes me have to blow my nose, cough, and spit pretty frequently. As time has gone on, my lung and nose mucous has gotten worse and causes me to feel like I can't breathe. This is especially strong during times I am horizontal. My breathing becomes pretty labored and I have a moment EVERY TIME that I feel like it's such a strong allergic reaction that I am going to drown.
Once it starts, it doesn't end until I have been sober for a couple of hours.
This happens during amazing trips and horrible trips alike.
It has only been accompanied with anxiety the first time I felt that I couldn't breathe. The second time, I realized it was a pattern, and got myself to stand up and forced myself to take a few deep breaths.
Also, it feels like my stomach is drowning EVERY TIME the mushrooms kick in. That feeling fades as well, and it isn't scary, but that's what I experience.
