Do prints need to be dried?

I have only made a few prints since I have been doing this. Researching tells me that drying prints is only necessary for long term storage. I have used aluminum foil, and as soon as I remove the finished print from the closet, I fold the aluminum foil up to prevent anything from landing on the print. My problem is that when I go to use the print, it doesn't come off the foil very easily, perhaps because it has remained moist inside the folded aluminum. It is hard to scrape up with a razor, and when I do, it kind of turns into spore sludge. It is not dry and powdery like I would assume. I am finally eligible to use the marketplace and have some prints I am taking now, but I just want to make sure I am doing correctly so I can have a happy trade partner. I would assume people would want dry prints since they may not use them immediately. If you dry prints thoroughly do they turn into more of a dust like consistency? I also intend on making syringes as well with some of these prints. Is it best to use them while they are still wet or should you dry them first for easier removal from the printing surface?
Thanks!

I have the same question, and another: how best to dry the print? Air dry, in a dehydrator, something else?

Air dry in a glove box. A dehydrator will make it dirty

Either dry it, I prefer in an alcohol cleaned dehydrator, or take the print in an alcohol sterilized zip-loc bag and use right away. I like the baggie method if you want to use the spores asap. MM

In a clean glove box maybe a few hours will do it for sure. I take the print in the glove box then let it dry in there. Everything remains in my clean still air box

Ah, I see. I've always used mine right away into a jar, but I can see your point.

wouldnt a desiccator be the preferred method of drying a print?
maybe even a vacuum desiccator?

if you print on a piece of glass you wont have any problems with it being fresh or dry.
tinfoil is great for mass printing but 1 print can make me 20-30 syringes so who needs more than 1?
