Any advice for a proper trivet?

Agar says in a post that sludge on the bottom of birdseed jars is partly due to the bottoms of the jars being too close to the heat source. Anyone have any suggestions on what objects can be used (other than the trivet provided when I bought the PC). Agar suggests a plate or two but I'm weary to use anything ceramic inside the cooker and I don't think I have any made of glass.

You can use anything to get your jars up higher, crumpled tinfoil works. Most of the time the crap at the bottom is from too much moister in the jars not how they are PCed. CH

Yeah... just keep pouring in water until you have an appropriate water level.

it shouldn't even matter if the towel soaks up water. the moisture is still there, and will be turned into steam when the appropriate temperature is reached.
