Somebody selling bags of myc as CO2 gens for gardens...

I am helping a guy from another forum. He has found a guy online (co2bags.com) selling bags of mushroom mycelium that is said to produce 20,000PPMs of CO2 in a 10'x10' grow space for 6 months. Supposedly all you do is place the bag at or above canopy level so the CO2 lingers down. Anybody have any idea what type of mushroom species this could be that could be left in such conditions without fruiting? Also what type of sub he could be using? He is selling them for $20. The guy I am helping says that on the site they also sell growing kits for shiitake, nameko, lion's mane, and golden, grey, and flamingo oysters, so he thinks it may be one of these. I told him one of you guys here at the shroomery may know what this is all about, and if it is bogus. So since I have an account here I said I would try to help. Any ideas?

Sounds like BS the myc would die after a month unless you kept it alive by watering or something. By then it would fruit. I'm no expert but from my experince kinds sounds like BS. it says for up to 6 months IDK but sounds like BS. But i would love to hear an expert opinion.

Yea, thats the first thing I told the guy was I would love to find out what species could vegetate that long. I'm not saying it's BS yet though, I'm not experienced enough. I haven't grown any of the edibles so maybe noobie would know, I know he does a bunch of oysters and such.

Absolutely bullshit, period.
The CO2 content inside a spawn bag can reach 20,000 ppm, but that's INside a bag of less than 1 cubic foot. I currently have over 500 of those spawn bags in my grow area and the CO2 level of the air is barely above ambient. Don't buy into this internet scam. It's not based on mycology, but on ripping off those who don't know any better. RR
