its not really bad info as long as youre in the pinning stage ... i routinely bump my temps up once the majority of my pinset is up 80 or so ... finishes them off nicely !

Well just as an update, I never went above 76... I was just asking, I've ready 500,000,000,000 pages on this website. I know more than enough basic information, and wouldn't go above 76F without more information backing it up... Just figured I'd ask for the hell of it... my pin set has gotten a little better, but not too much... I took the fan and pointed it way away from the tub and it's popped up about 10 more since yesterday... but I've gotten fuzzy stems on a lot of them...So i don't really know what to do.

Yeah, definitely going to say that you didn't read anything... there's no contamination.

Just wait :p I bet all those knots turn into pins on the 2nd flush.  If you followed the tek on your tub correctly the humidity should be fine. I don't know about the temp. mine fluctuates between 75-80 and my shroomies love it. I'v never done a monotub but I have cakes and casings who do similar things to me and all those knots always turn into a huge 2nd flush.  You are probably more experienced with me but since people always yell this at me its my turn.

PATIENCE!!!  hehe

Also they say myc on the stem is sign of high humidity.  I personally don't think it means anything.  Just a normal way of growin. My first FC only had 90% humidity and I had this and my new FC always has 99% and I still have it happen.  Also the low humidity of my first FC resulted in pitiful flushes so maybe that IS your problem.

I still say wait and thank the fungi gods for the mushies youve received

Same. I had this tub where the primordia didn't seem like they wanted to become pins. When I moved them closer to the radiator they took off. The downside is that any little spot of trich will really take off as well.

Also, I know people all have differing opinions on this, but in my experience, the very fuzzy stems seem to occur when I fail to mist, i.e. the sub is dry.

My theory is that the purpose of the fuzz is to collect condensation / dew because the fungus is thirsty and needs water for fruiting.

Fuzzy stems are a result of high humidity and or/ higher than normal c02 levels. That's what I've gathered from everyone' insight.

I also wonder if the fuzz helps the fungus absorb oxygen from the air during high c02.

I dunno about high humidity, maybe the fungus is creating more surface area for evaporation?
