And mind you, the USA-PATRIOT act gives the CIA the same power in Amerikkka that it has in Afghanistan, should you be caught with an Al Gore bumper sticker on your vehicle, let alone drugs.

If you have a Gore bumper sticker you SHOULD be tortured.

so whenever we interrogate a suspected terrorist, we should put them up in a room at the marriott? ask them about their knowledge of activity over an all you can eat steak and lobster dinner? and if they refuse to answer the questions just simply appologize and buy them a first class ticket back to whatever country they sprang from? my advice to them is that if they do not wish to be treated in such a way in the future, they should not join terrorist organizations. but thats just what i think.

Amen to that!
I really don't see why terrorists deserve human rights. Same thing for child molesters and drug dealers.

Are we bashing torture in general or is this another boring "bash America" thread?

whenever we interrogate a suspected terrorist
"Suspected terrorist" is the key phrase. People can suspect you of a lot of things. Perhaps the next time you get busted for pot someone might suspect you of a link with terrorists and torture you.

ask them about their knowledge of activity over an all you can eat steak and lobster dinner? Depends on the restaurant. If you take them to The Red Lobster , that might be considered torture.
my advice to them is that if they do not wish to be treated in such a way in the future Then they shouldn't be a suspect. That makes real sense.

I really don't see why terrorists deserve human rights. Same thing for child molesters and drug dealers. To be suspected is now the same as being convicted, and you believe in the American way?
Human rights are a privilege, not a right. Huh?

The point being the larger ramifications of torture as official US/global policy, and leaving it up to the CIA to determine whether its necessary in a given case.

In reply to:

We then agree then the US government should be tortured. Cool. Bush is a much larger terrorist than the guys on the planes of 9/11, hes got a lot less balls too.

USA can do whatever the fuck it wants. We all know that. Will the charade ever wear too thin? Will the world ever acknoledge that the US ain't no nice guy?
I mean, just extrapolate...what happens if the weather and stuff REALLY starts to change from global warming(are there any right wingers out there who still contest it's existence?)
And say the USA STILL won't commit to reducing. Cuz the USA is set to burn off a large chunk of the total oil resources of the whole world by herself!
How much 'terrorism' could the USA protect herself from then?
Join the army americans. A few oil billionaires will need you to die for them. God forbid you impose some kind of democratic control over your feudal lords. That would be communism.

If you don't violate someone's human rights some of the time, you probably aren't doing your job," said one official who has supervised the capture and transfer of accused terrorists.
That's disconcerting.
