Ok, well, I've dried most of the mushrooms from my first flush, and I decided to put some of them in a zip-loc bag to weigh them. While in the zip-loc, the scale picked up 4.5 grams. Obviously, this was incorrect, so I took them out of the bag, and the weight dramatically decreased to 1.5 grams. Which weight do I trust? A zip-loc bag can add three extra grams on a scale? Pictures below. Also, this makes everything all the worse, since it seems like the yield from my first flush will come out to 4 - 5 grams dried. This is from six cakes. I'm not feeling too well. It's time to learn how to case.

I think this post might be in the wrong fourm, but anyhow, it doesn't look like it's 4.5 grams to me, but on the other hand, looks more then 1.5. Don't you have a calibration weight? or perhaps you could weigh an object that already has it's weight on the packeages. I've used a pack of gum to test out my scale.

And yes, I do have a calibration weight. My scale is in perfect working condition.

then if it's in perfect working order the 1.5 grams should be correct.

Ya d00d, the baggies with the thick plastic strip to seal it should never be used for drugs. You want the ones made to fold over, preferably the ones without the tucked up edges (true potheads know what I'm talking about).
I once had this guy weigh out a sack in one of those bags to an even 14 grams and try to sell it to me as a 1/2, I was like "dude, are you fucking nuts? I'm standing right here in front of you and you're trying to rip me off?!?". He said he never really thought about it, but I explained to him that 3 grams is almost 1/8, which is worth $60....He apologized and I told all of his friends about it, which pretty much put him out of business.

Rofl, nice story Clown ...I figured the zip-loc would help keep air out. Well, I'll just weigh without any bags from now on. BTW, anyone else think my yield is pathetic?

Yup. At first, when I saw the formation of the pins, and the mature fruitbodies, I was very excited. Then I dried them. Oh well, at least I know I can cultivate to some degree now.

see the tare button in the bottom corner on your scale? Just put the bag on there first.. hit tare (resets it to 0 ) .. then weigh whatever it is you are going to weigh. This will account for the weight of the container first. congrats on a harvest... many people here don't get anything for the first few.

Ah yes, nutritious horse poo. That will come soon. My first casing shall either be pure verm, or 50/50. I haven't decided.

In reply to:

my moms friend says she's never seem to have a problem with these. she claims they keep her nugs fresher, longer.
