Christmas traditions
    #11716846 - 12/25/09 02:51 PM (12 years, 1 month ago)

I reflected a moment ago on christmas tradition.  I was propped at the window sill, smoking a cig, eyes drawn close to filter out the morning sunlight, mouth reeking of smoke and booze.  there is a christmas hangover ringing in my ears.  Across the way is the neighbor's house and they are all having some lively brunch or something.  i couldn't imagine doing anything like that in my current state.  even downstairs i have family that are fresh from xmas church.

My tradition is to visit my grandparents on xmas eve, then to meet up with a big group of friends to celebrate life and our friend who died many years ago to the day.  We get wasted as all hell and stay out all night, making for very hungover christmas mornings for all.  We do presents some time later in the day usually and then eat xmas dinner in the 'fancy' room of the house.

our traditions are all so different.  what's yours?

We used to do the tree, xmas lights, with nut crackers and a manger scene on the mantle.
Now I just jam xmas music watch the world spinning 'round.
But mostly I like to hang out with my friends while were all "home" for the holidays.
It's good to have the crew back together again.
