Jimi is the greatest as a guitar player i can play so many bands and Jimi is the hardest he played the guitar about 50 years ahead of his time, what he played back then is considered super heavy now hands down Jimi is the best guitarist of all time...Jimmy Page is a close second alone with Warren Haynes, Mr. Allman (Duane), then you got people from todays area, such and Jack White, and John Mayor...and so on and so on

I agree; if this is what you're asking, then why did you also ask me about why I'm not one of the most widely recognized guitarists in the world if I never claimed to be as proficient at improvising as Hendrix? I only claimed to be able to play his music.

My favorite guitarist personally is Robby Krieger, of The Doors, because he had fantastic talent and a very unique style.

Hate to break it to ya, but Krieger is nowhere near Hendrix.

I also doubt your first statement there, pal.

It's all a matter of opinion, though, and to be fair, it's possible that you haven't listened to Krieger's live shit.

Music speaks to me, and I like what Krieger's work has to say better than what Hendrix, Clapton, and Page's work says. And yes, I've seen and heard live shit from all of them.

If you can play as well as Hendrix, or better, then why aren't you one of the most widely recognized guitarists in the world?

Lots of people can play his music, have you checked out all the YouTube videos of covers of his music? I'm not that special...:crying:

You fail to understand what I'm saying. Anybody can cover anything with enough time on their hands. Few if any are as proficient at improvising and making music that invokes emotion as Jimi. Covering a song doesn't show anything other then dedication and learning specific muscle memory and pattern.

Jimi did more for the electric guitar then anybody.

I'm done arguing with you, because there is no argument.

:congrats:

How can you play his music if you can't match his improvisation? His improvisation was a crucial element in every song he did.

When I said I could play his music, I meant to say that I could cover much of his recorded shit.

Why would it matter if his improvisation was a crucial element to all of the songs that he made? His recorded shit is already, well, recorded, so all I have to do is listen to it and cover it...:confused2:

Forget it. What you initially said, made it sound like that Hendrix isn't anything special, because Poid (yourself) can EASILY cover all of his songs. We're mixed in a cluster fuck of confusion. Either way, Hendrix's musical ability doesn't need defending. Nearly all great guitarists we in envy of him, as am I.

Haha, well I hope one day you will get into him. When I listen to him play, it's like poetry through music. His music can tell a sonic story unlike anything I've ever heard before.
