    #11712253 - 12/24/09 02:09 PM (15 years, 27 days ago)

has anyone used a stanley steamer for overhead steam lines in their grow rooms?

Im trying to find cheap ways to keep my temps and humidity levels in my garage grow room.

Yea thats a bit cold, last winter I grew in a room that was in the 50's. 66F is an alright temp. just get a small space heater with thermostat

running a stanley steamer setup in your garage won't be cheap, or functional. there would be no way to dial in your temps while keeping your humidity stable.

and unless you are filling your whole garage with tubs (which i doubt because you can pull 1lb/week out of a 5x5x5 area.. so a whole garage setup would mean that you needed another room just to dry, process, and bag, not to mention a few employees) then you should just look into heating and humidifying a fruiting chamber.

you can build a structure out of pvc pipe and wrap it in polysheeting, and then run a fishtank heater inside a homemade humidifier to keep your temps up if you think they are a problem. i would run a thermostat in your chamber to turn the fishtank heater on/off.

dont space heaters use 1500 watts?

if im going to use a high watt machine id like to get more bang for my buck. thats why i thought a steamer would add heat and humidity.

im growing cold weather blues that like temps around 55F to 60F

No, small space heaters can be pretty cost efficient these day. But if your looking for a duel heat/humdidty then I dont know/. Usually heating the FC is a bad idea. Heating the room its in is the way to go

:lolsy:

this produces about 6lbs a month

i think you may have bit off more than you can chew, but good luck!

3 helpers sounds like 3 liabilities to me as well.

just run a few ultrasonics in the room, and have a space heater (on a thermostat)blow in air from a non-humidified room to avoid electrical problems.

Lol there safe. They have fail safes built into them. If they were dangerous why would they still make and sell them. My old shitty electric baseboard heaters in my place are more dangerous
