Moved cake into fruiting
    #11709660 - 12/24/09 12:07 AM (15 years, 27 days ago)

I finished dunking and rolling and placed cake inside the fruiting chamber.  Since the cake needs too still colonize the layer of vermiculite, should I keep the lights off and hold off on frequent FAE, keep and higher temp and allow some co2 build up until the verm has mycelium colonized over it

Or do I start FAE and begin 12 hr on off light along with temp drop

and how often should I spray inside the chamber again

Right after the dunk and roll you want the cake to go into fruiting conditions give it 12/12 light(6500K daylight or cool blue). Mist 3-4 times a day fan right after, fan 5-6 times a day. They dont need a temp drop at all.

Misting the cake will give it moisture and fanning right after will evaporate it off which will be your biggest pinning trigger.

Keep misting and fanning even when the fruits appear they can be misted directly. Mist the chamber and cakes

Only dunk the cakes between flushes no more rolls the first one you put one is enough

the vermiculite isnt there to be colonized over.... Most likely it wont get colonized over.

the verm is there to hopefully stick to the cake. You mist the vermiculite so it will soak up the water.

the soaked verm will keep humidity up and give more water to the myc to make mushrooms

Oohhh.  So am I mistaken in referring to the rolled vermiculite as a sort of casing layer?  Or is that not what it is at all?
