Filterpatchbag terrarium? (PIC)
    #1170574 - 12/25/02 10:12 PM (22 years, 4 months ago)

My friends cakes are 100% colonized. But hes unable to get perlite for his terraum, untill the 6, january.
So he has decided to just birth 3 cakes. He uses a plastic tray with wetted vermaculit inside a filter bag (as seen on MushMush site)
He fans 3-4 times a day, and keeps the temp. at 20-21C.

Heres some pics.

He is a bit worried that the terraium is not quite humie enough.
What do you folks think about it? will it work?
The cakes have been in the terrarium for 3 days and still no pins. (but this is normal?)

Please comment

it will take longer than 3 days to see pins. if you see water droplets on the outside of the bag then the hummidity is about right, if u dont see it, you could try misting the inside with some water.

i will agree, you should mist the inside of the bag. your pics show no water dropplets on them, so probably the humidity is not high.

sometimes, esp. when terrarium conditions are not right, pins perhaps will be seen after 1-2 weeks, if any.

hope u good luck

The pictures suck, there are some droplets on the inside of the bag. But my frinds thinks he better start misting the sides too.

Thanks for your reply

Yes the bags are just folded and help by a paper clip.
The avatar picture is of some extreme potent Psilocybe semilanceata i picked this fall, they were all blue and purple colours the ones on the rigt are extreme and on the left regular) . The picture were taken with a really cheap webcam (the same as used above)
