Prepping for my first grow, several last minute questions.

Over the past several months I have been lurking around this forum sucking in as much information as I possibly can. I will be using the brf/pf tek as seen in RR's videos. However, I have what I would consider some unique circumstances which I will explain shortly.
I have already gathered all necessary materials, built myself a glovebox, incubator and shotgun terrarium. The incubator was built because one of my roommates likes it chilly and the temperature is rarely above 69 in my apartment.
I plan on inoculating 20 1/2 pint jars, 10 KSSS and 10 Creeper purchased from ralphsters, in early january. There are several questions that I have come up with throughout my research on these forums that I have been unable to find an answer to, I figured I would compile them until I was almost ready to start, and then ask them all in the same place.
First, my tap water is probably some of the worst I have ever experienced in my life. Anywhere the water sits for an extended period of time has a high chance of a black mold sprouting up after a few days. This is most likely a common sense answer, but I would like to double check. Is it safe to use this water in my substrate, incubation chamber, and in my perlite in the fruiting chamber/mister?
Secondly, my apartment is 100% carpeted except for the bathrooms and kitchen. I will be growing in my closet and I was wondering if it's safe for me to sit my fruiting chamber directly on the floor, or if I should raise it up a few feet if possible.
Thirdly, is it safe to keep clothing in the same closet as a mushroom grow, more for the mushrooms sake than my clothes, seeing as I can't possibly imagine how a mushroom grow could harm my clothing.
And finally, I smoke marijuana in my bedroom multiple times daily, I'll be keeping my closet door closed unless I am getting clothing out or working with my grow. Is it safe to continue smoking in the room?
TLDR:
- Tap water produces a black mold, is it safe to use?
- Carpeted closet floor, can I just sit the fruiting chamber on the floor, or should I raise it up?
- Clothing will be kept in same closet I'm growing in, is this safe for the grow?
- Can I smoke in the room connected to the closet without harming my grow? Door will be kept shut.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and any answers to my questions will be greatly appreciated.

1. 65-70 degrees is FINE for incubation and fruiting. High incubation temps can raise your chances of contams. I've always incubated between 70-72 degrees and reached full colonization in 3 weeks. 2. Do NOT use tap water if it produces black mold! Use filtered water, distiled or bottled water. 3. Raise your FC by placing it on some sort of riser. You need air exchange underneath! If you're going to put the FC on the floor, raise it up by resting it on 4 small items that will give it a few inches of clearance. You can use practically anything for this. 4. Once cakes are colonized and placed in the FC they are pretty contam resistant. You shouldn't have a problem in your closet, however, they need 12 hours of light a day, so make sure you're using a grow light. 5. I don't think MJ smoke will harm your grow, as long as you're not blowing it directly into your FC or something.
Hope this helps.

Carpet is like the Country of China for Contams.... they are everywhere !
Dont put anything near carpet, it is a breeding ground.
Good luck !

I'll see what I can rig up when it comes to raising the containers up. Thanks for the input everyone. Hopefully soon I'll have some Quote:

Unfortunately that isn't an option
I'm going to try to find a small table that will fit into my closet. And about my incubator, it runs at an average 76 degress, I plan on using it to try to speed up colonization.

Up in the air is always better than in the compromised carpet. I just hope I didn't mess up, I cooled my jars on my floor, it's cement, and they were inside a box with one end open. Open air inoculation. I had a problem with mold once in the room, however it was bleach cleaned and was like a year ago. The culprit was a box spring that was on a carpet for a few years, when put on the cement floor in summer, condensation on the floor caused the floor to colonize. Best part is I forgot to wipe the lids with IpA before sporin'.
Hopefully my oysters don't green up before birthing.

Use left over jars or books for your risers.

put lime or salt (or both) on the carpet and smash it in. That will raise the PH very high make it inhabitable for most shit

Hmm, I wonder if you could just steam clean your carpets with the right kind of additive in the steam cleaner and do this?
