The Night Before Christmas
By Nexus1946 December 21st 2009

T'was the night before Christmas, and all through the grow room Mycologists were kept busy, raising the marvellous mushroom The cultures were all growing, in the incubator they sat And mycelium to be transferred, into jars to get fat
Now we all became hungry, so we snacked and we fed While colourful visions, danced all through our heads And buzzing and tripping, to our big hearts content All decided to party, and get totally bent
When out in the lab, there arose such a sound I jumped from my chair, to see what could be found To the door did I hustle, like a bat out of hell Tore it open so fast, that I had damn near fell
Upon entering the room, the lights ever so bright Gave the haze in my eyes, a few minutes to gain sight When I gathered my vision, what is it I would see Some dirty old boot prints, and a puddle of pee
With a fast look around, cause I had to act quick I knew in a moment, it would be that fat prick He sat in the corner, was as high as a kite He had eaten all my shrooms, it was a horrible sight
His clothes were all dirty, from his boots to his toque And even his face, was all covered in puke With a filthy old sack, he had leaning by his side I knew at that moment, I had to get him to his ride
He then reached in his pocket, and pulled out a spliff And struck a small match, and took in a great whiff The smoke it had spread, on his face like a rash He then tossed me some prints, "That should cover your stash"
And all of a sudden, Santa jumped to his feet He rubbed his red eyes, and wiped off his seat With a look to me strangely, as he walked swiftly by Three words roughly spoken, "I gotta' fly"
With a twist and a grunt, he jumped through the window And landed in a sleigh, led by eight brilliant doe With a cough and a whistle, they flew up and away Screaming "Merry Christmas Shroomery, and have a Happy Holiday!"

Very well done!

Yep. Thats the one.
It's actually on it's second flush without a dunk.
The 'Jolly old Elf' seems to be doing better than Russell did. Must be the spirit of Christmas! :grin

You know, I got all excited the other day because I was going to do a similar project with a stuffed animal I had, 100% cotton, I remember looking at the tag.
When I started searching for it, I realized it was a dream.
No joke.

I know the feeling....
I had a dream once where I had loads of cash like I won the lottery or something, and when I woke up I went to where I had it, I then realized it was a dream.
Talk about a let down!
About the stuffed animal; I'm not sure if cotton would work as well as something synthetic like polyester. If you're going to grow one I would stick to anything made with polyester.
Both Russell and Santa Shroom are polyester.

Heres a short history and a few more pics of Santa Shroom.
Santa was originally one of those mechanical decorations you see in people's windows.

I picked it up in the same second-hand store where Russell came from.
I brought it home, pulled all the moving parts and stuffing out of it, washed the 'suit' with soap and hot water, placed it into a 1L jar and pressure cooked for 30 minutes at 15 PSI.

Once cooled the 'suit' was re-stuffed with a mix of 50% cut straw, 20% cow manure, 15% Coir, 10% Gypsum, 5% Coffee, (roughly), spawned with PF Redspore colonized WBS at a 50/50 mix.

First flush was 48 grams. Should be enough to redden Rudolph's nose!
