This is not about doctrine, dogma... theism, deism...atheism, agnosticism...Hallmark, commercialism...Catholicism, Protestantism, Orthodoxy...history, mythology...tradition, collective consciousness...Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus of Bethlehem, Jesus the Son of God, Jesus the Son of Man [well, it actually is about Him, but...]......it's about Peace on Earth, Good Will Towards [Wo]Men.
May all of you in cyberland who visit this site, who like my posts or dislike my posts...who argue with me or agree with me or simply ignore me, all have a Very Merry Christmas, no matter what you presently believe.
Last night, I visted with Neopagans, and one very angry Satanist (in a wheelchair) and his sad wife. They wished me a Happy Yule. I wished them a Merry Christmas too, around a fire, surrounded by a magic circle. I thought I was going to a house warming party - Oh well.
I stuffed a turkey with chestnut dressing -my late Mom's recipe. I'm waiting for my Lady's Mum to show up with Jamaican peas and rice and Sorrel. We're not exchanging gifts, although I hear I'm getting some box/open-end wrenches from her Mum 'cause I help her fix things. We all know it's not OUR birthday being celebrated. Rose (m'Lady) did give me a silver bracelet with Dorjes and gold-embossed 'Great Mantra of Vajrayana' that I frequently post on, in Sanskrit, and I'm finally gonna have my Grandmother's/Mom's diamond re-set in a ring for Rose.
CHRISTMAS IS ABOUT THE WELLING UP OF LOVE IN ONE'S HEART, my friends. It is not mere emotion, it is pure Will - the Will for Goodness, Peace, Fearlessness. It is Ecstatic, it is worth living and dying for, it is pure Freedom - it is Christ!

Geez, another old post resurrected! Actually, the pool is quite cold (no heater, big pool, gas and electric ridiculously expensive; heat-pump? Don't know how warm it would get the water. Solar? First hurricane will tear the array off the roof, plus the southern exposure faces the street and the panels are fugly) Cigars? Never do tobacky. Cookies have come my way - gingerbread. Plus Peppermint Bark (Yum!) and frosted brownies I baked from a mix. More after the turkey comes out of the oven). It's tough enough to get the woman into platform heels, so a skimpy elf outfit would be as difficult as getting her to wear a middle school girl's outfit [just kidding].
Well, the shadows have gotten quite long in south Florida, but, it's been pleasantly cool, despite the high humidity. The wreath is out, the artificial Sears 9' tree is up and blinking (hmm, might have a pic from last year...) 
Yes, Tibetan, Egyptian, Christian, Nigerian, Indonesian, and even Victoria's Secret ornamentation. Soloman's Seal at the top. Don't be alarmed by the luminous disk that is against the tree. Whatever that entity is, it shows up from time to time. Greenman to the left. Jewish-Christian-Pagan. The 'Return of the Sun' is not to be co-opted by any tradition or tribe. "Live, drink and be merry," contrary to the misanthropic, misogynistic Saul/Paul of Tarsus, is not inimical to the spirit of Christmas. I have lived long enough to realize that. Unlike certain paranoid types who lurk in Christian threads on this forum, asceticism belongs to Stoicism, certain Neoplatonic and Pythagorean schools of antiquity, but "the Son of Man came eating and drinking with gluttons and winebibbers..." Well, enough of my rambling. [AH! A Charlie Brown Christmas song just came on Sirius]. I'm reclaiming Christmas in the names of all Jews, Christians, Hindus, Buddhists, Muslims and Pagans by the Love has arisen in my Heart Cave - God's Indwelling.

Thanks for the update even though you had to squash my little fantasy.
We only celebrate Solstice so it's very quiet here today although we will all be sharing dinner tonight. Nothing traditional but instead Cabbage rolls.
