What are all the complicated logistics of which you speak? All the bag teks are extremely simple. Making a bag is much simpler than building a monotub.

Well like he already mentioned, money to keep buying bags, can only work with spp. that are tolerant to higher co2, and equipment. After buying 150 bags, I had to buy an impulse sealer. I inoculated all but 2 of the bags I mentioned earlier this morning. Re-sealing the bags can be a pain. One bag took me 4 tries to get a good seal. I'm still kinda new to bag cultivation, but so far I like it.

Why not just use twist ties? That's what RR does.

My next grow I'm going to use regular old cereal bags. I'll make cakes in jars then use cereal bags as my FCs so there's nothing to buy or build.

I used twist ties initially, and it works in a pinch. But a sealer does a better job IMO.

As far as cereal bags for FC's it might work if the plastic is gas permeable, but why not do what RR does in his vids?

Because I'm too cheap to buy special bags when I have million free ones already and I have a super secret plan to get around having to use a filter patch

why mot make casings and use a milk crate lined with black plastic bag, filled with perlite, holes poked all over and a clear bag on top.

i used to do that for years.

One of the nice things about bags is you don't need to mess around with perlite

So your going to use cereal bags to hold bulk subs and crumble cakes into that? Or are you just going to use the bags as an FC to fruit your cakes? Tell us your secret plan so we can tell you if it's going to work or fail.

If your plan is the second, then why not save your 2 liter soda bottles. Those make perfect FC's for single cakes. You can take the lid off and stuff some poly fil in there. Drill some extra holes for extra FAE. I'm all about reusing stuff out of the recycle bin.

My top secret plan is to put one bag upside down over the top of another so that air can get up in between the crack and act as an FC.

If that works then on the following grows I'll crumble the cake and add bulk spawn.

I don't buy anything that comes in 2 liter bottles but if I did I would probably do what you're saying.
