What's the advantage

I use lc and it seems simple and not prone to contams. If I were to use g2g seems more prone to contams due to opening the jars. Is their a real advantage using g2g over lc..?

Well ... it depends.
If you already know how the strain performs on grain, no. The LC will inoculate more areas at once and the two will probably perform the same.
G2G was a big thing before LC came into fad. It's an effective method, so it'll never go away, but the LC is easier for people without lab environment.
Now the best of both worlds: Agar's grain LC

well if done sterille you can speed up colonization times and keep the process going using garaunteed good myc. With LC's you never know if it is contamed. Shake a jar of grain let it recover then use as spawn for G2G and you know your transfering good myc. Also LC's are limited to the amount of innoculant you use. grains can be divy'ed up how much you like hince the faster colonization speeds. Hope this helps.
Just some advice also about your LC's. Use a grain jar that is 100% colonized. pour in water from another sterile jar and shake vigorously and then pour water back into water jar. you now have super concentrated LC in pure water. No honey or karo. this can also be diluted to make tons of lc syringes.

Mycelium has an amazing ability to cope with less than optimal conditions, and will often fruit when a grower does everything wrong. However, do everything right and watch your performance go through the roof." RR

Ok, thanks to both of you. I have a killer lc and have gotten 120 gram fruits and very good potency. I made 3 qrts of lc from the master and just started using the baby bottle tek, lot easier to tip the bottle.

Man, I'm still stuck with G2G! Unbelievable colonization times. It still amazes me how fast I can go from 1 fully colonized quart jar to 12 colonized quart jars. I haven't really even been interested in LC since I went G2G. That's just me though.;)

I myself did a grain lc the other day.
Just sterilized 200ml of water in a quart jar with a silicone port on top and a siliconed peice of tyvek covering the other hole.
Shot a bunch of water into my wbs grain jar, shook the hell outta it, sucked it back out and into the sterilized quart jar of water. Now i've got a orangish colered water full of mycellium. I knocked up 5 quarts of wbs the other day with it. so we'll see if i fugged it up or not. lol.

toadstooly.....you injected clean water into already colonized jars to get a culture for your LC correct?
