it was a cake but it got real fluffy and hte bottom is where them mycelium grew into the verm.

ive read every post with the word orange in it and it seems to be temporary. ive already noticed it disapearing, who knows, noone else seems too lol. Im hoping to get a mushroom for a print.

Well it kind of looks like there will be some pinning at the top within days but it is hard to tell with pics. Over time you will get an eye for it.

Vermiculite holds water, and perlite doesn't. Seems like vermiculite is a bad bed to sit on. Anyways people somtimes case with vermiculite, and the mycelium colonizes the vermiculite. It looks like your doing some sort of weird reverse upside down casing. I'd pull the cake up and let it sit on a dish and replace the vermiculite with perlite.
