best bet against procrastination??
    #11684846 - 12/20/09 07:21 AM (14 years, 1 month ago)

am having real issues with this... just got real lucky and landed a job, one that is well paying. i really need the money, and going ahead and working at it represents not only advancement in my financial goals, but success in life in general (happiness, sexual/romantic life, travel)... even keeping all this in mind, for some reason, i'm finding other things to do and barely ever working. this is a job i do 80% of work remotely (on my computer at home or wherever) so self-discipline is harder... but still, what can i do to force myself to work!

maintaining effort is difficult, especially stuff you don't really want to do. Set small attainable goals for your work, then reward yourself for completion of the goal. For instance, I will work on my pc for 1 hour and then i will roll a fatty and pack a bong and partake of them both simultaneously. This will increase the likelihood the behavior will occur again in the future. Simple positive reinforcement does wonders on the subconscious mind.

I'll get around to fixing my procrastination someday...

Set up a schedule.  Have strict time constraints.  FOllow them.
