I always thought that metabolites were a byproduct of the mycelium consuming nutrients. The mycelium excretes it to fight off/protect itself from contams.

I haven't used it for drying, but hmm, it might be a different kind, but it's same style... I'd have to look, I just bought it yesterday for 10 bucks from depot... is it called an 8 inch turbo or some thing?

Metabolites are not a waste product, they are used to fight off contams thought. You can look throughout the forum and see how many people get bitched out for referring to it as myc piss

Well I hope you guys are right! I cased WBS with Verm and i have a few of these yellow spots "metabolites" and I'm hoping that everything still grows okay? Is there anyway to get rid of them?

Is there ever to much? Mine is COVERED in metabolites. They are clear and pretty (none of the yellow sickly color like it is struggling) but soon it will be a blanket. I can't imagine this is good for them over time. I did use Dr Myco so i think it has some helpful bacteria to form a biofilm helping cut down in contam. Maybe it is just reacting to that in a healthy way?
It almost makes we want to lay a paper towel over it to soak it up. It has pletty of moisture. It does have a ton of nutrients. It was a manure based Sub and i still added a manure booster.

It this pic shows you will see mine is insane.
It was started with rice and no overlay. (95% of my growth was done after 24 hours even though it was mixed well. It struggled moving to Sub but it is starting now after 8 days. Most of the growth was just the rice going insane after mixed with the sub.

What he said. Plus, you're necroing a thread that's over 13 years old.

“Evey Hammond: Who are you?
V: Who? Who is but the form following the function of what and what I am is a man in a mask.
Evey Hammond: Well I can see that.
V: Of course you can. I'm not questioning your powers of observation I'm merely remarking upon the paradox of asking a masked man who he is”
