Alright I was just looking at scales and I don't get it. Most all of the nice $100 or lower digital scales weigh down to 0.1 gram wich is 100mg's right? Now I found scales that weigh in mg's but they were any where from $3000-$7000 give or take! How do you guys measure out your reasearch chems? Did you all invest enough money for a nice car on a scale? Even a scale that measures down to 50mg might work,as you could probably eye ball from there,or better yet a scale that goes down to 5-10mg would probably be my est bet,but where to find one? I haven't seen anything like what I want except the ones for $3000! Please guys tell me how you weigh out your reaserch chems! Thanks

I had the same problem as you... I've found some cheap digital scale to 0.1 g that is alright for mushrooms, but the don't ship in Italy,or if they do it, the shipment costs more than the scale. Now I ordered a very cheap scale for 7.80$ at this site, some people here says it's a good one. It's not digital, but it's old fashioned. Or you can find something digital here. Or also here.. Or even here.
It's up to you.

i was asking, cuz im getting into amt
what you can do is dissolve 0.1 grams of research chem into 1000ml ethanol, heat, stir, whatever, and then 10ml is 1mg :-) what substance are you asking for?

Oh I don't know what chem I am asking for,I was just wondering if I could get into research chems,or if the scale was going to set me back to much money! Theres alot of chems I have read about and would try but not unless I can properly weigh them!
So do all you guys use this methode where you disolve 0.1gr of chem in 1000ml of whatever and put it in a syringe or something? I would think just putting a little bit of powder on a digital and getting the 100% right weight of it would be the best way,but is there a scale that will weigh in mg's that is less then $3000! Thanks

That method would work if the amount you have really is the amount it should be. Also, check out this site: www.precision-balances.com They have a scale accurate to .002g for $200.

a scale that measures to the 10th of a gram would work fine. set your scale on a table. Make sure its perfectly calibrated. Make sure the surface is smooth, and that there is no wind or electronic devices too close. Very slowly add powder, a little at a time, until it reaches 0.1. That should be 100mg. If you feel it might be off, scrape a little off at a time, until it goes to 0.0. Then add slowly again. BTW, even your body movements can create a change in your scales reading, so let the reading settle (about 20 seconds) before assuming that 0.1 is 100mg. if it goes up to 0.2, make sure it stays there, and slowly remove until 0.1
good luck :-)

Thanks for the info. So all the scales I have been seeing, the cheaper digital scales are around $40 to $70,most if not all seem to go down to 0.1gr wich is 1000mg right? So ya one that even went down to 100mg like you said would be even better, but I haven't seen any I don't think, unless they are realy exspensive?

Nope never finished high school! I don't see what that has to do with anything but what ever...it's not like the school around here has any class that teaches you about different weights,I asked my brother who graduated from this school and he diden't have any kind of class that tought that shit either! Now I was pretty sure 0.1gr was either 100mg or 1000mg,I just forgot wich one as I just had some one tell me a couple days ago,and in school they never tought us how to remember stuff either, and weed doesn't help!

ps.why did you write 1mg=1000mg,I don't get it? How on earth does this crap work,if 0.1gr is 100 mg but at the same time 1mg is 1000mg,I don't get it!

0.1g is 1/10th of a gram, so you'd just have to divide 1000mg by ten...
