Moisture in my jars
    #11679940 - 12/19/09 10:22 AM (15 years, 1 month ago)

Is this a problem??

i have two jars cultivating mycellium and all is going well, however there are visable droplets of water on the inside of the jar. Like a good amount.

Help please. Should i be worried, or is this normal?

ps i read the related threads and they didnt seem to answer this..

you'll be okay. you don't want pools of water, but if the myc is colonizing then you will be fine, i say that assuming contams wont take over first. good luck dude. post pics

i wouldnt say pools but its a signifigant amount. Would putting them in the fridge/ freezer help to fight off contams, because that is the only reason im concerned with the moisture.

I know mold likes heat and moisture.....luckily i just got hit with a coldfront(FL) so my temp is like high sixties, hopefully a lil lower tonight.

Honestly if there is a certain temperature range that would signifigantly decrease the chance of mold id gladly use it even if it takes a few days to a week longer to cultivate.

Ps im still a noob so im sorry if any of this sounds ridiculous.

Thanks for the help

ill post pics lter today, my family is over rite now

If your jars are in room air, you'll get some condensation inside.
The mycelium is generating warm moist air. Even a fraction of a degree difference can lead to drops.

 not only that, but when that warm humid air touches the inside side of the jar, the colder outside air makes the inside air condensate and create water droplets.

don't put them in the fridge. they will stop growing. droplets are 100% normal as several people have said. infact stop looking at them. check them in a few weeks and you'll jizz yer pants
