i have a friend who is well into her final year of becoming a nurse and she told me straight faced "mushrooms make your brain bubble and scar, those scars can be detected and will prevent you from getting certain jobs like becoming a pilot"
i dunno about you guys but i would think a medical professional would know that your brain doesn't "bubble"

She said she knew a chick who was very smart and she dropped acid and couldn't even remember the alphabet

cigarettes cause cancer because of the radioactive substances they contain
polonium-210 and lead-210 which are both alpha emitting radionuclides
alpha is the worst as it does the most damage in a small radius and really cant be removed once ingested or inhaled
and it goes like this
radium and uranium decay to radon gas which is then picked up by the wind where it decays to lead-210 and polonium-210 and then falls back down to stick to the sticky surfaces(trichomes) of the tobacco leaf
also polonium 210 is in the plant itself due to the apatite rock they crush to make the phosphate fertilizers

And this.....From my GF.
Her friend was talking about the chemicals in pot(end product)
So either she thinks the bad chems will be in it, from growing, or she thinks there are chemical residues.
Ok, so she makes her 'point', by saying "but you don't know where the seed comes from"
This struck me as utterly confusing. Because my mom(hip to my activities) said "you don't know what those spores are, what if they're mislabel, or inaccurate"(How about the laws of nature/physics. It's unthinkable. We wouldn't be all talking about growing if there we're bunk spores going around. Without the spores, there wouldn't even be all these people discussing groiwng cubies/etc. WOW. That's actually really trippy. 
Anyway, with this chick I thought maybe at first she was attacking the idea of strain reliability, or maybe she thinks there is more than three types of cannabis? Like some weird foreign type?
But as it turns out her thing was that if chems we're used growing it....
The SEEDS will be toxic. So basically, using chemicals on a plant causes their offspring to retain those chemicals.
Even if those chemicals we're say, fertilizers, which plants process, and not say, PURE LEAD. If you could coax them to consume a fair amount in the first place.

I was told by a friend that there are loads of different types of Ecstasy. They are all made from drugs like heroin, cocaine, and other things. She couldn't grasp that Ecstasy is a pure chemical. I just gave up and agreed with her.
A whole bunch of my friends believe in the constant trip. "I met this guy down south, he was real fucked up from taking shrooms once and he is still tripping".
And "Don't take shrooms in Bali, they make you go crazy"
And "One day your gonna get bad magic mushrooms and have a bad trip and go crazy"
I don't understand why people think some mushrooms, of the same type can be bad and good.

I lost a group of childhood friends in high school because I was selling/doing shrooms.
They told me they were terrible for you and I responded with logical rebuttals.
One of them yelled at me and said "no shrooms have cyanide in them and your fucking peoples lives up" at this point I stopped trying and eventually all of them distanced themselves from me.
Best thing about it is they all smoke like a pack of cigarettes a day and are terrible alcoholics.

I've heard the orange myth about 50 times around the country from different people who swear they know the guy personally or met him. It has two variations:
1. Guy took acid. Thought he was an orange. And now he just sit curled up into a ball in a corner and screams if anyone gets near him thinking they are going to peel him. And is stuck this way forever.
2. Guy took acid. Thought he was a glass of orange juice. Same as above except thinks someone will tip him over. Stuck forever.
I've traced this story back at least to the late 70s,
my theory is it was either a bunch of tripping people fascinating on an orange, and the story got out of control
or another drug myth spread by the CIA, like 7 hits of acid makes you legally insane
