mini greenhouse in garage, for heat only, not humidity.

This forum rocks. Lots of great info. Used the search function, and read many poss about green houses, but didn't find answer to this question. Ok, using monotub and growbags, so humidity will be controlled "locally", not by humidity in greenhouse. Mini, four shelf Grenhouse (27 x 18 deep x 63h) will be in a garage, for temperature control. Temps in garage range(in winter) 35 degrees to 60 degrees. Have a thermostat controlled power supply. Thinking of a reptile pad on the floor, and maybe an electric blanket draped over the mini greenhouse, both plugged into thermostat set for 75 degrees, manually exchanging air a few times a day. Anyone ever tried something like this?

Wait, you are still exchanging FAE with the garage air, right? For your monotub? So you need humidity control as well.

you can pick up a tiny 15 dollar space heater at home depot with a built in thermostat. just turn it all the way up until you reach the temp you want in your greenhouse, and then turn the dial down slowly until it turns off

Cool! great responses, as usual. Sounds like this might work. Doc, I understood that the polyfill in the holes in the monotub will allow the moisture in the substrate to be retained, not right?

forgot to add: depending on the size of your garage, this may or may not get it to ideal temps.
also: the heater is going to dry out the air around the area, so you may need to adjust your setup for that.

It's not magic. The more air you exchange, the more moisture you lose. It's a tradeoff. But a monotub inside a greenhouse isn't really ideal, you may want to look at shotgun-style dubtubs.
