F#$%#@ wet spot!

Super pumped, first time with WBS, 4 quarts, rocking through, 50%, then baam. The nastyness set in. I gave it a week to see if it was just crazy myc metabolites or something, but no growth whatsoever over the wet spot. Just pitched all 4 of the jars.
Now, I have 8 more going. I paid a lot more attention to water content this time around and just soaked for 24, rinsed and drained for 45 min. Beautiful looking after it came out of the PC. Thinking, maybe they were too moist before and slow colonization of the myc let the wet spot whoop it's ass.
Now, I have these 8 colonizing in the same closet. It's in my bathroom, but it's just a freakishly huge closet that's perfect. I can control the temp. and always keep it right at around 70. Obviously if I take a hot shower, temp. goes up a little bit, but not too bad. What I was worried about is humidity. The 4 that I tossed had a center hole (can't remember how big...1/4 maybe, if not a little larger..) stuffed with Polyfill. This time, I have 1/8 for inoc, and 1/4 breather covered with Tyvek. Being in a bathroom, after taking a shower...the humidity level is obviously pretty high. Is this something I need to pay attention to? Or was it just shitty luck the first go around ya think?
I've read that certain grains too can be loaded with endospores, maybe not fully germinating them all during the soak, thus causing some sort of bacterial infection. I'm all ears - just curious to see what sort of conditions you guys have (if you've been so lucky when you've seen bacterial infection/wetspot going on in your grain jars.

Oh, and sterile techniques were followed fairly well.
First 4 was open air, but was ousted/lysoled/cleaned to hell with surgical mask and gloves. Flame sterilized needle with alcohol lamp between jars.
Second go around, with these 8 was done in a glovebox just to be extra cautious.

Open air inoculations are begging for contamination.
Did you use latex gloves and tyvek wrist sleeves? The single largest vector of contamination in cultivation is the cultivator himself. Your body constantly sheds skin cells and a few of them flaking off into your grain could mean a bacterial or mold infestation. Even the bacteria in your breath can ruin a spawn run.

Absolutely, first time was open air but done as best as I could. Gloves, surgical mask, clean surfaces, flame sterile, etc...you know the drill.
Second in the glove box was full gloves attached, no sleeves...almost industrial style, worked great. So far the 8 look beautiful with no signs of contam. I really think perhaps the moisture was a tad on the high side for the first 4, leading to a better "breading zone" if you will for the bacteria.
I'm keeping the jars where I have them, but the minute I see any sort of additional moisture or the early signs of bacteria, those bitches are coming out =) So far I've been lucky, no mold issues yet...just the bacteria. Sure is a fun hobby! Wish me luck! Thanks for the advice though man!
