So,I recently moved to a dry county, and can't get alcohol unless I drive 20 miles.I have no car so this isn't an option.Anyways,I was able to procure a cheap and effective alcoholic beverage that will put your lights out,so to speakAll you need is one container of walmart brand 100 percent apple juice, will cost you all of two dollars,a packet of yeast,a cup and a half of sugar,a balloon, and about five days to wait.Pretty much there is no technique to this at all.simply poor out a regular glass full of the juice, and drink it,or whatever, add in a cup and a half of sugar, shake it up really good with the top on of coursethen activate you yeast, you can read the packet for how to do so,pour it in the apple juice once activated, put top on and shake the hell out of it,then add your balloon with a lil hole punched in the tip for gas exchange. That's it.This works well for underage people who can't buy alcohol themselves, not that I condone that sort of thingYou can get Drunk after only five days of waiting, but the longer you let it set,the yeast will have time to eat up all the sugar. Also, this will smell up the place your fermenting it in like a sour yeasty smell mixed with a hint of alcohol. Here are so pictures of the materials minus the sugar, because we all know what sugar looks like. You can tell I'm drinking mine a bit early from the dead yeast on the side of the bottle which I'm just too lazy to try to filter out.you guys can definitely improve on my method, and make a more palatable cleaner product.this is just the lazy mans way of getting drunk in a dry county. This concludes my process.

This is wine making t it's cheapest and simplest. By the title I thought you had something unique to share (not that this isn't awesome, don't get me wrong). If I missed something where this is a unique KBG Wine process please by all means tell me. I'm all about the home production, but this is pretty basic. I tried this with different juices. I drank a quart of cheaply made homemade lemonade wine and was buzzed, but it was more like beer content than wine.
I would suggest using a more pure juice cider and then use fractional crystallization in a freezer to concentrate the alcohol...and that's only because I've been reading on it lately haha.

i went to walmart and bought 2 cans of juice. one orange mango and one apple. i had a big empty container of corn meal that i threw in the juice in their. i activated the yeast but i got the active dry yeast not highly active. i hope it don't make a difference. i put the lid on with a hole on the top and put it in the garage surrounded by blankets. i hope the temps aren't too cold.
does anyone know the coldest temps it can still ferment with? right it smells like bread.

During fermentation there are several factors that winemakers take into consideration. The most notable is that of the internal temperature of the must. The biochemical process of fermentation itself creates a lot of residual heat which can take the must out of the ideal temperature range for the wine. Typically white wine is fermented between 64-68 °F (18-20 °C) though a wine maker may choose to use a higher temperature to bring out some of the complexity of the wine. Red wine is typically fermented at higher temperatures up to 85 °F (29 °C). Fermentation at higher temperatures may have adverse effect on the wine in stunning the yeast to inactivity and even "boiling off" some of the flavors of the wines. Some winemakers may ferment their red wines at cooler temperatures more typical of white wines in order to bring out more fruit flavors.[7]

Glad to see you guys got something out of this.the last batch I made fermented in only five days at about 61 degrees.I used tho think the higher the temperature the faster it would finish, but I was wrong.I wont be making any more, because I just can't handle alcohol any more, but you guys report back, and tell me how it worked for you.Oh,and RonPaulVerm I never said that this was a unique,or superb way to make wine,as we all know it's not even close.I was just showing how one could get drunk fairly cheaply from ordinary household items,or if you have no access to alcohol.I don't know why you only got a little buzz, but my shit always knocks me out cold. Also, fruit juice blends, stuff that's not pure 100 percent fruit juice,or has additives may not even work at all,or be really wek,so that could have been what happened with you mate. You have to use 100 percent juices with no additives.

So my brew is on day six, but its still fizzing. I guess that means all of the sugar hasn't been converted to alcohol yet. I did give it a little taste last night, and it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected taste-wise. Tasted like I imagined apple wine would taste like. I plan on getting a little buzz off of it tomorrow night. (7 days total) I did try an experiment of my own though, after sampling the wine last night, I put a new balloon on the bottle, but didn't poke a hole in it. So now its filling up with stinky CO2. (a stink bomb/balloon) Anybody who doesn't have readily accessible alcohol, or wants to save a buck or two on booze should try this, its cheap and easy. Though I can't speak for the potency of the wine yet, I will say that it sure does have alcohol in it after my sample last night. (I bet the hangover sucks.) I'll post my thoughts on the brew tomorrow night after sampling.
Thanks again KBG

My apple wine isn't tasting as alcoholic as I thought....I've seen more foam than this batch before. Anybody have words on what cause low foaming. I added almost a pound of dissolved sugar as well...it's been over a week.

Oh yeah, this won't be my last time doing this, I'd like to try making different brews in the future, maybe using different juices, brew containers, brew times, and yeasts, really refine this technique. I've done a bit of reading, and it seems like the biggest concerns in wine making are time, and sterility. And for someone who has grown mushrooms those are simple concerns. I think I may have gotten myself into a new hobby.

thats strange, after two or three days my brew stopped foaming, but it kept on fizzing, from my experience with wine, it tasted about as potent as your average grape wine, but still fizzy. by the way, the room its been sitting in has been a constant 60-65 degrees F. how much sugar is in a pound?, i used a cup and a half like the recipe called for.
