A few inoculation/substrate questions.

Most of the time to inoculate my jars (72 pint jars), I just revenge one jar and put pea sized pellets of colonized substrate (up until now various flours) into the sterilized jars. Using this method, I usually lose 6-10 jars to contaminants. Can anyone suggest another method of inoculation (besides syringe or print), or a way to improve my current method. Also, I'm moving on to straight brown rice as a substrate, will my method of inoculation still work with my new substrate? Thanks.

Are you saying you dont want to use a syringe, or you dont want to inject spores? you could make a liquid mycelium syringe and it would tear through those rice jars Only other way I can think of right now, besides syringe or print, is agar. You dont want to use agar if you are already loosing 10% to contams. I think a good liquid tek with some h2o2 might be just what you are looking for. Your gonna have to search for the teks though cause I dont have them marked
