Are These Aborts?!??

So this is a 6 quart block of coir that has had one decent flush like 2 and a half weeks ago, and not really anything since except a few random shrooms. I was anxious to get more flushes cause the first was pretty nice, but the sub got a little ripped up on top. So I pulled it out of the tin-foil tray to expose the knot-ridden, untouched sides for pinning. Well this is what it looks like:

My concern is that its pretty much looked the same now for what seems like about a week.
Could these all be aborts?? What causes aborts??

Pic is not very helpful... Anyway IMO its too dry. Maybe consider dunking it for 10 or 12 hours.

Really? The pic's pretty representative of what the cake looks like. And I actually just dunked this for about 2-3 hours like a weeks ago. And it's growing some healthy ones (notice the 2 big pins).
Could moisture content still be too low even when the cake is producing some healthy fruits?

I mean that pic is not very clear. Anyway those healthy mushrooms should be bigger after one week, thats why I suspect lack of water. However wait for a more experienced grower. GL

Oh, I see. The healthy shrooms (bigger, reddish pins in pic), are growing at a normal rate. They only recently got that big in the past fews days

Anyway the little ones are not aborts, not now at least. Aborts have a black or dark cap.

I bet those ones you have deemed "aborts" will be some nice fruits on your second or third flush.

You need to get some moisture in that thing. IMO

Shit, really? Dunking this thing is such a pain in the ass cuz its so big. has anyone tried trickling or pouring water directly on the cake instead of dunking?
And they're not black and slimy, not yet at least. they just haven't grown any in like a week.

pins will be ok with the dunk, and love the extra water later.
