Inconsistent mycelium growth in jar.

Im probably gonna post this question again but with photos but thats gonna be a while so Im gonna ask anyways for the hell of it.
My pf tek jars (my first) have a pretty inconsistent growth pattern. Some spots, cottony, some spots very "bandy." Looks not exacly spider webby but more like bands stretching. If you know of a picture that looks as I describe it, feel free to post it up. But where the myc is more band like, Its got a darker hue to it. Not as white at all. Im a little worried because its much greyer looking, not saying thats it gray though. Just compared the the white mycelium. then there is one spot where there is just a random cotton ball of white on top of the bandy mycelium. Well... maybe I will just post photos then. Might be tomorrow. But if you know what I might mean... Lets talk.

How long have the jars been colonizing? i just fruited my first jars 5 days ago, and they had the same type of thing going on. You need to let them colonize for 4 weeks, and then they should be completely colonized and ready for you to dunk and roll. Good luck, it is so much fun when you start to see your first little guys. They are like little members of the family !

Just FYI -- there really isn't a set time for how long to let colonization take place. That's not up to any of us. All we can do is help the colony along. But it's going to to what it's going to do whenever it wants to.
That being said, my first experience with any of this showed that your four week statement is pretty much right on:
I inoculated my fifteen jars on 11/20/09, and just birthed this morning. It was 100% colonized one week ago. So inoculation to 100% colonized was 18 days, and then another 8 days to birthing. Total: 26 days.
Peace

Being that mine, yours and about 90% of most people see full colonization in 3 weeks with another week to let the mycellium takes it hold in the substrate, the 4 week mark is safe to assume for any noobie. obviously there are circumstances outside the box so to speak, but that time frame is standard operating procedure.

are the gray areas possibly areas which the mix is still showing through? if the myc hasnt grown a lot it may seem darker in some areas... also i noticed the mycl appears to grow first under the holes in which the spores were injected. you should post a picture
