You get can get a 100 of these for about $20-$30. They are reusable however are made out of polypropylene so you might be able to pressure cook them. Similar to the monotub set and forget, all you have to do is remove the filter and crack the lid open. And remember mixing > layers!

I got the containers from the Restaurant Depot, yes that is a band-aid and it works lovely. They won't let you in unless you have a membership card like Sam's Club.

I'm also confused as to what is the great find. What is it called? Where can I purchase it? How much does it cost?

Are they simply the plastic quart containers that you get with chinese food (soup usually)?

Ah ok, so "yes".
I use these to fruit half pints and pints when trying out new varieties. (Mix half pint of colonized wbs with 1-1.5 pints of field cap verm, let recolonize, fruit. I used pint sized containers (16oz deli containers) to win TacoHerder's most recent cultivation contest. They work.

or you could save yourself a bit of money by saving 2 litre soda bottles, cut the top of and insert it into the bottle, loose pollyfill in the top and pump it up and down for air exchange.

They are autoclavable if you get the right ones. I used about a pint of WBS and coir for that small little container, I'm happy with it. I've never done a soda bottle before, I don't really drink any so maybe I can fashion an orange juice box into a tray.
