Old Dried Shroom - Molded? (pics inside)

Hey, I have some dried shrooms from the summer so about 5 months old or so. I've been saving them and I finally took them out and I see that they are covered in this gray powder. When you blow on it, it a ball of dust comes puff up (like when you blow on a dusty book). But some (the gray substance) dont come off ... like at the gills and stem. It was of a nice brown color a couple months ago when I dried it. I've included some pic from a phone.
Please give me your advice.. Thanks a lot.

Best quality I can get.Sorry. Any advice would be great1

Use bright light, sunlight is best. Then step back and zoom in or crop.
But let me say this: mushrooms are food.
If you look at it like that, would you eat those? If they were some dried mushrooms from your kitchen?

not that i would know how they look, im assuming thats close to it though.

I think I might to take the lose on this batch...
I actually took a small shroom and washed it in cold water. The gray sandy substance came off with some rubbing on the caps and stem and it returned to its brownish shade but it was hard to get off the gills. Do you think a light washing/rubbing. Then making tea would savage this batch?

it's not worth the risk. pitch em. do you really want to deal with all the ill effects of eating mold while you're tripping? sounds like a real dream come true to me.

Dude, that's your call.

Personally, I wouldn't eat 6 month old moldy food. If you are willing to risk getting very ill and puking your guts out while you are tripping do whatever the hell you want.

If you eat them and don't get sick, then awesome.

If you eat them and do get sick, you will then understand what a foolish decision it was.

Use some common sense.

Mine was stored in a plastic container..

Longer than that, if stored properly. Your container was probably not airtight. Your best bet would have been to store them in a glass jar with some desiccant.

Those are some very trippy images, even for the sober...

Last time I dried them bad I got white spots (probably yeast) and trich on some of them

ive had some shrooms much like those, but i left them in a half opened baggie behind my bed and forgot about em for like 7-8 months or so.but yea they had that grayish powder stuff on em and i washed em and man i have ta tell ya its not worth it. i ended up goin to the hospital even though i dont think i had to, but man was i sick listen to the rest of them dont eat em or if you do im pretty sure youll have a night of misery as i did. oh yea if you do end up eating them and going to the hospital like i did dont tell em its from mushrooms cause the first thing they did to me was pump my stomic and having your stomic pumped while tripping aint fun aint fun at all.

edit: oh wait i guess activated charcoal isnt having your stomic pumped but yea thats what they did with the activated charcoal

It could potentially make him very sick, and being that sick while tripping... I can't imagine. But agreed. If you are going to take them, that's probably the best way.

Thanks to all who replied. This was my first grow and storage. I will definately invest in a food-vac to seal it next time I grow.

I'm going to take a small shroom (probably 1 gram or less), rinse it well to get rid of gray substance and make tea. Now, can anyone give me some info on making tea...

Do you chop up the shroom then throw it in the boiling water with the teabag and honey? I'm thinking of eating the chopped up pieces too in the tea (good idea)?
Any input?

dude there is no need for vacuum. it's nice but not at all necessary. just dry thoroughly and store somewhat airtight. if they can't get wet they can't mold.
