It is amazing how many records these talentless, corporate whores sell(talking about your Soulja Boys, Kanye West, Lil' Wayne, and hundreds of others that make music with absolutely no message and if their is a message it's as fake as the chain they wear out to the club).
i never really dig hip hop messages, they are typically quite superficial, and perhaps revelatory to an uneducated urban african american, but I must confess I aint impressed, b.
Well then you aren't listening to proper hip hop, heres a few names to listen to, Immortal Technique, Jedi Mind Tricks, Talib Kweli, AZ, Deltron 3030, and many others I can't even think of right now. And WTF is that "I must confess, I aint impressed, b"? I don't get it. And really anybody who denies that hip-hop is a relevant and important form of music is denying blues, jazz, R&B, and even Rock and Roll, it all had a hand in making hip-hop what it is today, and I'm not talking about the corporate rappers that do it all for the money, I'm talking about people that mix poetry and beats together and have actual talent. If you don't like real hip-hop then don't chime into this thread, I certainly wouldn't be going into a thread where somebody is talking about mainstream country music or some shit like that, though everyone is entitled to like what they want. Just saying, even if you don't like hip-hop then you have to have some respect for certain people out their, people like Immortal Technique who still sell records by word of mouth basically and won't sign to a company that want to change veiws or lyrics in any way, I have major respect for people like that. Let me also say their are certain types of music and artists that I don't like but that I respect immensely.
Edit- Why is this in PD?

Hot damn Dr. Myco, nice post
Thank you and some more mushies for you
I would post my own hip hop music page, but I don't think that would be very smart of me on an illicit substance forum

I know he has a message, the message that his manager and the record companies say he can have, he's a sellout who has an ego the size of the Good-Year blimp, and I just can't listen to people like that, no matter if from time to time they put out a real "sounding" song, it's a bullshit facade.
