funny lookin popcorn

Hi this is my first time growin im growin wat is hopefully mexican cubensis the shrooms sprouted up about 4 -5 days ago and there about 2 - 3 inches tall but with really small brown heads....The problem is that theres a huge bit of white stuff at the edge of the growin box wat looks like a massive bit of popcorn - that has no brown head any idea what this is? is it just a deformed mushroom?..peace ps it was a grow kit i bought wat im growin in

Hmmm, my guess is too high humidity. Is this fluff growing on the bottom of you mushies at the base? or directly on the walls? if it's on the walls, might be contams.. any pics?

Funny you should say that, I have some Mexican Cubensis just starting to fruit, and I too have observed something very similar to what you have described. However my caps appear to be normal!
I'm not growing from a kit, but the spores I used came from a print that was grown from a kit.

Tell me, where did you purchase your kit? Was it KingBong?

Has anyone else encountered anything similar, or has anyone encountered P. Cubensis producing Sclerotia

ouch - did you say ?25 ? per syringe? i'd only pay that over-the-counter at a shop in soho, purely for the convenience if i was terrified of the postal service.

i've had syringes delivered in about 5 days from smart botanics, at about ?8 each. discrete, fast, plenty spores. they're in holland.

also in holland is the  free spore ring : you send them US $1 note (or 1 euro taped to a card) and they send you back your own self-addressed envelope (no stamp needed) with a print of your choice from a list. they're on the net at www.fsre.org

the idea is that you send them one back when you grow a crop, to keep the cycle alive. try it - you'll need to learn to make your own syringes sometime, and from one print you can easily make 10 spore-rich syringes.

nah m8 i spent ?25 got a kit with soil vermiculate and a bag with a filter but u didnt have to inject spores the spores are already in the grow medium and its all sterial all you have to do is spray water on it w8 a few days and u get some quality shrooms
