This jar is about 23 days old, and I noticed a slight tinge of green in about the middle of this picture. Does this look like its contaminated to you, if so which type?

I don't think you marked the 'share' box?
Oh, wait- is this it? Looks ok. What specifically are you asking about? It looks a little darker, is it a trick of the light?

no light trick, this is how it looks in person. I am talking about the coloration that is just to the right of the middle of this picture. It spans about the size of a quarter, and its a half pint jar. It's actually easier to recognize what I am referring to while looking at the smaller version of the picture.
by the way this is 1 of 8 jars, and the only one I noticed anything weird on. all a few days from covering all of the outsides of the jar with white.

Well, if the small pic shows it better- I'm not worried. Put it away and check it in a week.
Edit - three days. Check it Friday morning. Let us know what you see.

Don't throw that jar out until it looks contaminated.

What else could it be other than contam? I have separated it from the other jars temporarily, but it would be nice to have that extra jar if its not contam
I guess ill keep it until I see some changes, but what kind of signs should I be looking for that would "verify" contamination?

I think it's just a patch of rhizomorphic mycelium.
"Signs": Sudden change of color. Fuzziness/fluffiness Green (blue, not always a problem)
But in 3 or 4 days, just take a look and post new pics.

so the tinge of green from the picture above still looks exactly the same. But I have a new problem. My jars have been getting almost no GE recently, and almost all of them have some yellowishness showing up.
pics. All of the yellowness has shown up since the beginning of this thread a few days ago.

Few, I hope you're right. Temps about 75 consistently.
By the way they have now been relocated to accomodate gas exchange.

It looks to me kind of like the mycelium just hasnt fully taken over the substrate in the off color photos. except the first one, where i can deffinatly see the green tinge you are talking about
can you smell anything? if it smells rotten at all then its bad. alot of the time you can smell it through the lid, but i make an effort not to breathe on the jars heavily only inhale

My money is on contamination. Nothing in that picture that shows the bottom of the jar says , "HEALTHY MYCELIUM". It has started to form a "barrier" in which it won't colonize the contaminated area. That area also looks VERY WET. The metabolites are being released all in that area which further leads me to believe that it has come across contamination. Could be bacteria. Does it smell sour? Hate to be the only one here who is a bit pessimistic.

i agree it looks like bacteria to mee you can try letting it fully colonize then rinsing it off real good @ birth and fruit it seperate from ur healthy cakes. the fruiting will probably be mediocre at best and have smaller than usual fruits if it is indeed putting its energy into battling that contam. but who knows worse comes to worse just toss it out.

i wouldnt birth a cake that is already contaminated. that's just silly.
as stated smell should be your best indicater.
eventually you will know what to smell for
i caught a whiff of bad when i opened the droor where i keep my jars yesterday, but i havent been able to apprehend the suspect yet
also, i havent smelled the bad smell again, its kind of bothering me since i want to spawn them all to one sub.

That "green" everyone is referring to actually looks more blue to me.
I would be more worried about the bottom of the jar. Ok just looked at the jar from the side that is uncolonized and I can see what Shroomy1 was talking about, with the myc walling off.
That's a very bad sign. Toss 'em.

yeah dale that actually does look like blue bruising.
typically green would be more prominent and concentrated to one spot where the trichoderma mold is sporulating, and then the green would spread out from that spot. right?
