the strain is "PF Standard (Classic)." apparently these were genetically altered to work best on cakes or something. maybe somebody can clarify that. anyway, i didn't know that till after the project was started. kinda excited what the fruits will look like.

pf gets pretty fat too , kind of a unique strain in comparison to a lot ..

misting/fanning tubs is retarded IMO especially when you re fighting off what seems to be some bacteria and oversaturation just helps it out , but to each their own ...

if you re gonna do it then increase your mistings as the fruits develop .. but at this stage they still have the original moisture from field capacity to do just fine ...

ohhh i thought u were supposed to stop misting sometime around when it starts to fruit; something about water droplets being bad for developing fruits...forgot exactly what i read. anyway ill just fan it once a day then, after the air has been ousted to shit.

I'm not trying to begin another argument, but fresh air will help keep contaminants at bay much more than a stale air from a tub. I would still mist, as your sub could dry out if you don't. If you watch as you mist, you can easily avoid saturating the substrate and as long as you mist afterward you should be good to go.

I generally quit misting once the pins get to a decent size, but after the pinset has formed. Your pins will get wet when misting but as long as you fan well afterward it will not cause problems.

water droplets spayed too hard on pins maybe ... wherever you read that its misinformation ... mushies are 90 percent water , they love the shit , just keep it from pooling up and mind that it can collect under your sub unknowingly and bac out on you ...

another thing to remember , the more water the bigger the shrooms , unfortunately also the weaker and more fragile the shrooms ...

i dont know where this big revolution of misting and fanning tubs came from ... when they were created it was with the intent that it created its own micro habitat inside and was not to be disturbed except to case occasionally ...

i dont mist or fan my tubs and have never had a problem ... dont even crack them till first harvest ... why on earth would one want to disrupt nature at work with all that i dont know ... after harvest dunk and return ... so effing easy ... more problematic to be doing all this shit imo ... if it aint broke dont fix it and all that ...

I didn't get into tubs with the intent of sealing them up and letting them sit. I like to be involved in the process, growing is the most fun part about it. I guarantee you a tub that is misted and fanned will perform better than a sealed tub, has been the case for me.

hahaha sofare so good guys. little by little im seeing tiny tiny mushrooms form here and there but its a real slow process. it might have something to do with the strain. i thought they were all supposed to form all at once to make a nice even pinset. is it still normal that its barley fruiting yet?

Keep doing what your doing.  It won't be nearly as long as it has been. Once you see pins, the fruits are only days away.

So if you look at page 11 of this thread, you’ll see the pictures of my tub when it started fruiting (4 days ago). So now it’s not looking good. Once it starts fruiting shouldn’t it explode with growth? Look how much progression the tub has made so fare; Not much. Couple of small pins here and there and one small toadstool looking mother fucker.

**besides the fact that the tub has been stressed out, i mean look at all that myc piss, i also think its to wet. i mist twice a day and my substrate was a little over Field capacity way back when i pasteurized. will i see any improvement if i stop misting and just fan it?
