I think it's more likely that historical sources that mention Jesus are exaggerating his deeds rather than just making up his existence entirely.

Yeah but he was a politician and proclaimed dictator.  I'm sure the historical text of him is much more accurate than a "wise man" from Palestine claiming to be the son of god:shrug:

I think the historical information about Julius Caesar was taken down in the present, his real time.  Much of the writings of jesus were done after he is dead making it much more susceptible to manipulation.
