How should I store my new fungus

Thanks to all at shroomery for helping me complete my first batch. I have a few that I think are ripe for the chop. One of em is like 6" tall! The veils have all broken, but before I start, I wanted to know how I should store them. I've heard for the most part that the shrooms are more potent fresh. Can I put them in the fidge? How can I keep them fresh for a week or so. Also, I want to attempt to dry some of em. Thanks

there's also a tek for using dry ice (after they are dried). i'm not exactly sure how it works, but i asked about it once, and someone replied with a link to the tek.
i lost the link, but here's what i remember.
go to the grocery store and ask for dry ice. make sure that when you get it, it is able to go str8 into drinking water with no side effects. all dry-ice is is CO2. make sure it doesn't have any additives or anything else in it. then put a small piece (the size of a bottle cap) in a mason jar and let it completely evaporate, then put your mushies in there and seal the jar. the CO2 is heavier than the rest of the air and it will force all the other air out of the top of the jar. it is said that mushies stored like this can be good (no loss in potency, or very very little) for a really long time, like years or something.
hope this helps. again, this is not used to dry the mushies, only to store them.

I've already read that, but it didn't answer my question. Are the shrooms better if i just eat them after I pick them. Or are the just as potent dry? I didn't want to dry them and I though I could keep them fresh for like 5 days without a competitor mold. Can anyone recomend a method to do this, i've stored mushrooms from the store in my fidge for a week, can you do this with cubies?

There really should be no difference in potency if dried properly. Fan them for about 12-24 hours, then put them in a desiccant chamber. They should retain the same amount of psilocybin. After they're dry put them in a zip-loc bag either in the refrigerator or in a darker area at room temperature.

(IMO) I think it is only more potent when picked fresh, if you tried to store it in the fridge, the natural water in the mushies would most likely decrease the potency of the mushroom, the faster you dry without heat, the more alkaloids get preserved.

I dunno, I really haven't noticed much of a difference between fresh and dried.

CO2 is heavier than air. It would stay in the jar. the shrooms would displace some of it but only the volume the took up. the remaining would act as a barrier between air and shroomz
