boiling 1/2 pint wide mouth question...

I don't have the funds to buy a PC so I'm deciding on boiling my jars in a pot... Approximately how much water should I fill the pot and how long should I let them boil? Thanks for the help :-)

Place your jars in the pot on a raised surface or towel. Direct contact between the hot bottom of the pot and the jars will crack them. Add water to about half way up the side of the jars. Boil them for an hour at a slow boil.  Let the jars cool in the pot overnight in the pot before inoculation.  :smile:
