Other than that though, I would think that a pint cake would do better overall than a half pint cake, just because of it's doubled mass. If you're new though, I wouldn't risk it.
I've only had one pint ever fruit (the rest got some sort of contam)
Though, it did give me the biggest shrooms i've ever flushed lol.

God, I love this thread. What's the success rate on your syringe sterilization? I'm also following this to a "T" very soon. I have a spore syringe and BRF from last year I'm going to pray I can still get some cakes out of, but if not, I'll be on soon again. This is the bee's knees, right here.
Your FC idea is extremely similar to how I thought up my mini-monotub FC i will try one day, and am going to redo all of my thoughts to getting an FC looking like that.
Should I just keep using the same syringe over and over, better yet, what's the best way to "recycle"?

if you boil your jars/lids/needles/syringes you can get many uses out of them, I find that some of the thinner guage needles dont hold up for as long, if you invest 15 minutes or less in making a simple "still-air box" you signifigantly reduce your need to worrie about it
cut flaps off cardboard box, cut arm holes, seran wrap the top = donezo.

Or if you're even more lazy, a clear garbage bag works fine also.
