The chamber does not look like that now I changed it a round a bit no more rock in the bottom just more perlite and water
I was hoping to ask, do you have the perlite in five separate bins there? I can't quite tell. How much water is in there. I trust what you do with PF Tek, and want to give my cakes as close to the same conditions as possible.

Ok im new. I have got my brf cakes in 1/2 pint jars and they are inoculated. i have a heating pad in a container with the jars keeping it at 78 degrees. i also have some in pint jars that was done a week ago and i dont see anything yet starting in the pint jars. does it matter if the lids are screwed on tight? i have the lids kinda loose with foil over the top. do they need to stay tight? does it matter? is room temp better than keeping them at 78-80 degrees? thanks a ton!

room temp is fine. a heating pad will dry out your jars.

What about the lids for gas exchange? do they need to be tight or lose or what is the best way? And is it too early to think the sporestore.com pint jars that are showing no signs of anything after a week a fail? i used spores101 lc for the 1/2 pint ones.

101 are rippers. http://www.shroomery.org/sponsors.php
lid rings should be tightened firmly. not too much or too loose. some tape lids, some just use foil. if jars stall, take off tape.

After inoculation nothing should be obstructing your 4 inoculation holes

Shea, any input or specifications on your modification to a PMP? It would be greatly appreciated.

It different then what the picture shows at the moment, Its just a tote with 3 inches of perlite and 1 inch of water with 3 bubbler bars connected to a duel output fish pump. Works great

Is the perlite sitting directly on top of the bubbler bars? Or is it in containers? And only one inch of water? Do you have holes in the top or anything? I imagine you still fan and mist. It seems so much more reliable and forgiving that a Shotgun FC.
How many cakes have you had in there at once?

Yes the perlite is right on top of the bubbler bars. I have holes in the top lid they are 1/4 inch holes. I still fan and mist 6+ times a day. I have had 5 cakes in there at one time.

Hi, I've got a quick question I hope you can help with. I'm about to inncoulate. Is there any reason I can't use a gas stove top flame to steralize the needle? I looked around the site and there's a lot of discussion about alcohol vs lighter vs candle but precious little said about a gas top stove. I'm assuming it's hot enough and less residue than at least the candle and probably the lighter. What do you think?

i have inoculated 12 jars. half from sporestore about 10 days ago in pint jars and the other half was done about 5 days ago and they was from spores101. i do not see anything growing in the jars. should i be worried and reorder and try again or am i getting in too big of a hurry? theres is not mold at least. i have them in jars with lids fairly snug with no tape and foil over the top at about 75 degrees.

Your biggest mistake was ordering from spores101 and sporestore. Your second mistake was using pint jars
Order from one of these places http://www.shroomery.org/sponsors.php
And follow this tek to a T
