I know they say not to cover it after inoculation but that just doesnt seem to make sense in my mind.... after being so sterile why leave open holes?
does the dry verm protect it that well??

These are jars I made up 2 weeks ago, I took this picture early yesterday morning.
The Taz (on the left) showed and started growth before the Cambos(on the right.) but the cambos have EXPLODED past the taz. a very fast, agressive colonizer once established.
cant wait to get some LC started!!!c'mon payday:biggrin:

whats the point of the tyvek?
GE is not needed for colonization, just wondering why you would have one?
I could understand if you used the lids for both LC/grain and PF cakes.

is PMP or shotgun FC the way to go?
I grew some cakes like 2 years ago in a Poor mans pod and they did great, I didnt know as much as I do now and had too much water in the perlite but the bubblewands worked great
I wasnt on the shroomery for a while after that, and it seems like they have all these new things goin on...
is a shotgun FC "better" than a PMP? or just easier/cheaper (lack of air pump)
I had alot of air flowing into the pmp, they were good pumps for a large tank and kept the rh at 100%

does that mean you just birthed them last night as well?
it might be soon enough to pull them out and dunk now

if you boil your jars/lids/needles/syringes you can get many uses out of them, I find that some of the thinner guage needles dont hold up for as long,
if you invest 15 minutes or less in making a simple "still-air box" you signifigantly reduce your need to worrie about it

cut flaps off cardboard box, cut arm holes, seran wrap the top = donezo. :rastamon:

yeah the bottom looks fine if your friend had to he could always scrape off the top part that isnt colonized and fruit it as is
