mini bulldozing top casing layer
    #1158209 - 12/20/02 03:19 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

made a mistake
a 1 inch(verm) bottor layer
1/2 inch 4 cake casing layer
1/4 inch vermiculate layer (following hongus tek)

casing placed in inubator, 3 full days
peeked to see if myc was coming thru

it twas, so i patched it (this was somewhat excessive, the patching)

put in fruiting chamber 3 full days, observation: no to very little myc growth pushing thru

removed excess vermiculite till fuzzy white, conlinized newly with vermicuite myc was observed
so basically i created a even area of newly colinized substrate for an even pinse, i hope

does everything sound okay so far? observations, predictions?
should water droplets be present on the walls in the terrium, using perilite
thanks

I don't see anything wrong yet. You didn't read the FAQ though. The original casing is too thick.

i dont know wether you made a mistake or not but if you did then so did I. I was seriously thinking about asking you guys first but thought i might get flamed. I did this about three days ago after seeing no myclium growth in the top verm layer and now i have a few (very few) small(very small) pins.I dont see why it wouldnt work, it worked for me
