Well it has been sitting for four days now. It is sprayed 3 times a day and fanned 5 times a day. No signs of spawning. How long should I go before I start to worry?

Patience, patience, patience. I always love it when we humans want things to happen on OUR timeline only to learn that nature has it's own way of doing things and mostly just gives us the finger.
BTW -- how did you choose your username, calcifer? If you got it where I think you got it, we should get together and chat.
Peace.

I think he means 'pinning'.

Yes! I KNEW it! This movie, along with 'Whisper of the Heart' are my favorites of Miyazaki's.

Make sure you fan and mist the hell out of it. At least 4-6 times a day

Well if you are fanning and misting the third step is patience.

I usually have the light 10-18 inches away from the substrate in most cases.

12/13 - Temp around 72-75 daily. Light cycle is 12/12. Daylight CFL bulb about 12-18" away from substrate.
Bright white areas are starting to form. I have been gently misting the cake to keep it moist.

Since I have been working more hours lately I decided to put a small Tupperware dish inside the chamber with an air stone with air pump. The fish tank air pump is outside of the chamber with a hose running into the Tupperware dish with water. Will this be ok to help with air exchange?

Well today is 14 and a half. Day 7 and a half under the daylight bulb. I am going to let it run until the 25th. If nothing happens I will try casing it before throwing it in the woods.
I will say I wish I started with casings. Cakes seem to be noobish and take a long time for small results if you do it like me and end up with one cake left.
