My aunt made this for me:
sliced avo Sweet Cherry tomatoes Ranch
Don't remember being stoned but that was better than ice creme, she made this as a replacement for dessert.

if the tomatoes grilled and you replaced the ranch with fresh mozzarella, that sounds good too

best avacado dessert / snack ever:
mash up a ripe avacado in bowl with a spoon. add some milk or cream until you get desired consistency. add some sugar until you get desired sweetness. consume. my dad sometimes puts a scoop of icecream on top.
i've been meaning to experiment with making avacado flavoured ice cream, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
slices of avacado really taste great in your average sandwhich too, especially in a BLT.

I know you were kinda asking for recipes that they are good in, but deep fried avocado slices are decadent.
They also pair great with most all sushi. Especially eel. Avocados are great in breakfast burritos as well. Most Spanish food pairs well with them. I think there's little that avocados don't pair great with though.

I like to make a little avocado taco like this:
first put down two corn tortillas on top of eachother, the little fresh ones Now put some white queso fresco (farmers cheese) put two avocado slices on top Thinly shredded iceberg lettuce Put some fresh salsa with tomato, onion, cilantro
A very good, very simple taco.

now my gf would love that. i was at a food store today and they had some avocados wrapped in plastic and labeled them organic, so they could charger you 3 bucks each. then they had the same looking ones sitting right next to them for 1/3 the price.... i made a chicken, avocado, lettuce, cheese, and little bits of bacon(along with some mayonnaise) wrap for lunch, it was goood.

Try an avocado smoothie! Take a ripe avocado, 1/2 cup raspberry juice, 1/4 cup fresh raspberries, and 3/4 cup OJ. Blend till smooth and enjoy the calories! Very cool for a morning snack.

i've been meaning to experiment with making avacado flavoured ice cream, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I do that first thing a lot but I do it in the blender to make it creamier. Plain vanilla ice cream is good in it too. Basically an avocado milkshake.
I've made avocado ice cream too! I have some pictures around here somewhere that I'll post (if I can find them). I don't use a custard base, I basically use the ingredients of the milkshake (but with half and half instead of milk) plus a bit of lemon juice. I actually used it in a savory dish with chilled shrimp and lots of citrus and fresh herbs, but it's sweet. I want to try it in a dessert with chocolate and spearmint sometime.

that's awesome! you should definitely post the pictures if you find them. a few days ago i went to the pickle barrel with my family, and they had an avacado and brie omelette on their breakfast menu. i tried it but it wasn't very good, the idea is good though. im sure it can be executed much better. are you in the culinary field by any chance?

Avocado soup is awesome.
1 large ripe avocado peeled and pitted 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice salt and freshly ground pepper 1 1/2 cup chicken broth 1/4 cup heavy cream
Directions:
Cut avocado into large chunks and immediately dip into lemon juice. With a fork smash avocado into the lemon juice--not mashing too finely, as you want some of the pulp to remain in nugget size about size of peas. Season with salt and pepper. Turn mixture into a saucepan, preferably one with enamel lining, place over low heat. Slowly add chicken broth, stirring to blend then add the cream. Bring the soup just to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Chill in refrigerator for several hours before serving.

I worked in restaurants for a while as a line cook, but that's about it. I just pretend to be a chef at home.

The interesting thing about the organic produce you find in grocery stores is that it's usually only a little bit better than the regular produce. All of it is shipped from all over the world so i usually end up just buying the regular produce. When i think of organic produce (produce i will probably pay on average $1.00 more per pound for) i think of sweet ass home grown vegetables and not just something slightly better than what they normally have at walmart. If it's not locally grown i don't see a real difference.
If you want great produce go to the farmers market. I have pretty good results going to the ritzier produce stores, but i only buy produce there. Bread milk and cheese at these stores is a giant ripoff, although in some places these are the only place you'll find really good cheese.
The produce at trader joes seems to suck? Depressing.
I worked in the produce industry for 5 years. It's a tough industry but you learn a lot about how to choose produce. If anyone has questions i'd be happy to answer.
