sediment in my agar

so I went to make some agar up today and found that my dry malt was hard as a rock. I crushed it up as best as i could and made my agar and sterilized it. after i got done pouring my dishes just now i noticed some of them had some sediment floating in them which id presume is my dry malt that didnt dissolve all the way. do you think this will pose a risk at all or will it be all right since it's sterile?
also, how do you guys keep your DME from not turning into a rock?

it should be fine i always heat my agar mixture to dissolve everything in it first then PC it
to keep it from hardening keep it in an air tight container you could even throw a few silica packets in it as well

I don't think it will hurt anything, I bet the myc colonizes around it. I keep mine in a plastic container with an airtight lid. It's saturated with malt, I'll never use it for anything else. And it's getting sticky, too. The powder inside is clumping a bit, but not bad.
In other words, I don't think that's the best way to do it. Maybe a jar?

Cool, dry place in an airtight container.

oh, how long do i usually have to let the dishes sit in front of the flowhood before i can make transfers to them?

As soon as the agar solidifies. If you let it cool to perfection (that means it's still pourable) then you'll have none or very little condensation. I usually let it sit for an hour (ideally) after pouring, and then start to transfer.
